Maternity Photography – celebrating new life

Maternity Photography is a perfect opportunity to document one of the most precious times in a woman’s life: the creation of a new life and a new family.

Maternity photography sessions are not just about your body and bump, they are about documenting this special time in the way you want to remember it. It is nice to include partners in the maternity photoshoot as well and siblings should you wish.

Maternity sessions can be held at my studio in South Ockendon or outside in the great outdoors weather permitting. I have lots of lovely long flowing dresses to choose from for the session, including designer maternity dresses by the amazing maternity designer Mii Estello. I also have materials to drape around you to show off your beautiful bump. So don’t worry if you haven’t anything to wear for the maternity photoshoot.

You can show as little or as much as you feel comfortable in doing. I can also take very subtle silhouette shots for any one who does not feel comfortable in front of the camera.

The special moment as a mother-to-be should be captured for a life long memory. My maternity photography sessions can capture your pregnancy glow so you can look back in years to come and enjoy the moments you shared with your baby before they entered the world.

Booking information

As I do get booked up quite far in advance I recommend to book as you go into your second trimester.

The best time to photograph your bump is between 32 and 36 weeks. During this time, the bump is a proper full size baby bump and you don’t feel as tired as in the last month.

Please make sure not to leave it too late! Babies are so unpredictable and they can come before we have met for the photo session.

Pricing

Due to the fact that my dates do get booked up quite far in advance, I require a £99  booking fee to secure your date and booking. This will be deducted from your final order.

You do not need to choose what collection to go for until after you have viewed your images 2 – 3 weeks after the shoot date. You will be invited back to view all your images . You can choose to purchase prints or products instead of a collection or opt for a collection plus wall art, album or other products. I do have a minimum spend of £249.00 for a maternity session so on the day of the shoot itself £150.00 is payable . After viewing the images you can opt to stick with the £249.00 collection, order other products or choose a higher collection.

FAQs

How long is the session?
It is normally between one hour to one and a half hours
When will my images be ready?
At certain times of the year I am busier than others the typical time for the gallery to be ready to view is 3-4 weeks. I do aim to be quicker if I can
What outfits do I need to bring?
You don’t need to bring any. I have lots of lovely maternity dresses. You are of course welcome to bring any of your own outfits if you wish.
What underwear should I wear?
Due to the dresses being either light or dark in colour it is worth bringing two sets of underwear. One black and one white or nude
Can I have totally naked shots?
Yes it is your session and we can do whatever you feel comfortable doing.
What else do I need to bring?
Bring your scan picture drinks and snacks.
Can I include my partner and my child?
Of course! Maternity sessions are a celebration of your body and the new baby, so everyone is welcome to join you in your shoot.
What Covid precautions do you have in place?
I follow all government guidelines on social distancing. Hand sanitisers are provided on entry to the studio. Face Masks must be worn while not being photographed. Shoes removed on entry to the studio. No spectators allowed. I am also asking adults to take a lateral flow test the morning of the shoot.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes of course. I would not want you to miss out on this most important stage of a baby’s life due to financial reasons. For more information on payment plans feel free to contact me via the contact page.
