Newborn photography in Essex and surrounding areas by Tracy Main Photography is an investment you will never regret. It will provide you with a lifetime of memories and happiness that otherwise would just be a faded memory.

Newborn photography is not just as simple as putting a baby on a beanbag taking a few photos and the shots come straight from the camera. There is so much more involved.

A typical session is between  2  to  5  hours long. I do not put a set time on a session as every baby is different and I want your experience to feel relaxed and not rushed. I will never finish a shoot because the time ran out if I don’t’ feel  I have the desired shot (unlike others) and I will not charge anymore if this happens.  The time will depend on your baby’s needs, a feed, change or cuddles may be needed and we will go as slow or as quick as your baby permits.

Tea coffee drinks and biscuits are provided at the session. I have a Tassimo coffee machine  and Lattes and Cappuccinos are readily available.

My studio is at the bottom of my garden and is fully air conditioned with a toilet readily available in the studio with hand washing facilities and a baby changing station.

Booking information

In order to capture the most precious photos the ideal time for a newborn session is between 5 and 14 days old.  During this time babies will be more content, less wiggly, sleepier and curlier for some of those desired poses. If you do miss this deadline don’t despair as I have photographed newborns up to 10 weeks old and still had fantastic results. Especially due to all the lockdowns we have had, I am used to photographing older newborns. 

I have a vast variety of props, backdrops, outfits headbands, hats etc., that will be available for your session. If there is any particular colour scheme or setup that you would like me to use then please let me know before the session.

Generally your images will be ready to view in approx 3 – 4 weeks .  Usually between 20 – 30 (sometimes more) high quality fully edited images will be shown in person at your  viewing and ordering session.  A beautiful slideshow will be created to showcase your images. Here you can choose what collection you require and order any wall art or albums. I only use professional photographic labs available only to photographers to produce the high quality images or products ordered.

Pricing

All sessions require a £99  booking fee in order to secure your photoshoot which will be deducted from your final payment.

You don’t have to choose your collection until your viewing session a few weeks after the photo session you will be shown a beautiful slideshow of all your images approx 20.-30. You can choose to purchase prints or products instead of a collection or opt for a collection and wall art. I do have a minimum spend of £349.00 for a newborn shoot so on the day of the shoot itself £250.00 is payable . On the viewing session day you can opt to stick with the £349.00 collection, order products or choose a higher collection.
